His Eminence Dr. Sunday Mbang, CON was born in Idua, Eket in August 1936. He emerged as the head of the Methodist Church of Nigeria at a most difficult time when Nigeria was controlled by the military. He was elected the head of all the Christians in Nigeria, a position he held for eight years during Nigeria’s transition from Military to Democratic leadership.
